Q: Why is this section necessary?
A: Since The Gym™ went online I’ve been asked to identify matches, companies, and/or wrestlers an average of three times a week. Hopefully this page along with Wrestlebase™ will help you find your own answers.
Right now this is only a starting point to get the ball rolling. When I get time it will be expanded and more organized.
Below are a few extra questions to help you identify a match.
Clue #1 - Black & White or Color?
Hey, don’t laugh. Some of us lived during a time when the term 'beta' referred to videotape and not unreleased computer software. If the matches are in black & white chances are it’s an AMG match. To my knowledge, no other company since 1990 distributed their own original wrestling material transferred from film stock.
Clue #2 - Are all the wrestler’s the same race or nationality?
BWN only uses black wrestlers.
PAPW only uses oriental wrestlers.
W&L is a company based in France so the wrestlers speak french.
Clue #3 - What are the age of the wrestlers?
Global Fight & Norstar only uses more mature men.
HBWL & Let’s Wrestle only uses younger men.
Clue #4 - Are there any special features on the tapes? (Besides previews)
BG East, BG Enterprises, Con Ganas, and JPWA have interviews, promos, and/or news features on some of their tapes.
Ken Star and Pro Muscle shows the stats of the wrestlers before the matches.
Pro Muscle also has slow motion recaps after their matches.Below are some images you can use for comparison.
