The Wrestlers’ Road Most Traveled
They say ‘no man is an island’. Well, the same is true about wrestling tape companies. Many people may not realize how closely connected some of them are. Not by financial affiliations, but by the wrestlers who do matches for them.

Below is a chart showing the companies I have listed in Wrestlebase™. (As of 9/1/03) If the companies are connected by a line it means at least one wrestler has worked for both companies. The extra companies at the bottom left are listed so you know I considered them when making the chart. (Please note that the lines do not necessarily go one way. Some wrestlers who have done nude matches may have done non-nude ones later in their grappling career.)
Yes, it’s a little confusing so I’m going to simplify it. Below I’ve highlighted in red the companies which specifically distribute adult related material. Notice how they are centralized with the majority of connections being between themselves. This could imply that there are several men who wrestle as their chosen line of making extra money. What it may mean is that wrestling is their preferred choice of sexual expression. Another theory may be that men who are unsure about the porn industry find this a valid alternative. Or at least a stepping stone so they can test the waters and see if they truly wish such a profession. The opposite may also be true. Porn stars who are competitive may find wrestling a welcome change. (Interesting note: I forget where, but someone once commented how porn star bottoms are unusually aggressive during wrestling. A possible psychological over compensation for their usual submissive behavior.)
The following chart shows all the companies which are still currently producing videos which have had wrestlers who have worked for both adult oriented and non-adult companies.
Much like above, the next image has some of the companies hilighted. But this time it shows the tape companies which do not offer nude matches. (CAL does not offer full frontal nudity but they do have butt views in their jockstrap matches.) Notice how all of their connections are with companies which offer the wrestler a choice of nude or non-nude matches.
So, what’s the point of all of this?

What I’m trying to show is that underground wrestler’s have a wide variety of choices if they wish to wrestle for an established tape company. And if one type of competition isn’t to their liking they can always try somewhere else. Trying saying that in the pro circuit and see what kind of reaction you get.
